Iron Filings

Here I am with you
Hateful garments
Slicing away at your backs
Your fronts
Dismissing your creases
Smoothing out your worry lines
Instead of inserting mine
On a starched blank page.

Compelled by nature
To attend
Wishing to be free to create
At the same time
Like some.

Steam the cloth intruders
Time, life, breath
And poetry thieves.

  1. This is brilliant Polly. Can feel the press and heat and the notion of the iron, resentful. Am catching up with my blog reading this afternoon and particulary enjoying yours. 🙂
