Illumined

12 Comments

English: Ex-Iron Curtain barbed wire.

Oh, please return,
You’ve slipped away.
I haven’t seen you
For many days.
Touching sadness,
Fear of scorn,
Abandoned, isolated …
Forlorn.
The loss I feel
Like wire inside;
Knotted, twisted
Suicide
Illumined by your absence.

  1. Ouch! That “wire inside” bit really snags – to coin a phrase.

  3. I agree, wire inside is so apt to describe the tearing inside. It’s sad :o( But you’ve captured feelings well :o)

  7. Polly, this seared my soul. The words “isolation” and “abandoned” are exactly right for depicting suicide… people isolate themselves, and, feeling there’s no other option… God, the wire inside, it stung me, too. This is packed with emotion and depth. GREAT. Amy

      I unspammed you again … what a nasty place to land spamland is … will check it more frequently and rescue those who lurk there unnoticed …
