Kindly Tiger

For Napowrimo today we’re asked for a poem that tells a lie. ‘I think you could have a poem that’s all lies (that could be very funny — full of things like “the sun is the size of a nickel”) or a poem that steadily builds to telling one big whopper.’

Here’s my goofy attempt:

Birds slither,
worms take wing,
fungi wither
in a faerie ring.
Badgers with cameras
picture moles a’dither,
elegant elephants
take giraffes to dinner.
Tigers, kindly,
fangs so bright,
tuck me into bed
each night.

  1. I enjoyed this Polly. Great rhyme and visuals 🙂

  2. Oh, what fun! I am going to use prompts this year, when my muse is feeling lazy 😉

Don’t get me wrong, I love prompts, but I do not want to clutter up everyone’s reader with 3-4 poems a day this time around.
