Edwin Stockdale—Aventurine

I’ve just got my copy of Aventurine and thought you’d like to know about it.

A buddy at The Hurst on an Arvon residential course this year, Edwin Stockdale, has published his elegant pamphlet via Red Squirrel Press. We’re plunged into the 19th century entering the novels of Elizabeth Gaskell and Charlotte Bronte as Edwin picks up strands of the novels and unravels them in the most sublime poetry. There’s a poem called ‘Jane Austen’s House’ which is spookily beautiful. If you’re searching for a Christmas gift, this one would be welcomed. As would a copy of Girl’s Got Rhythm, my own collection of poems. Links below.

This link will take you to the Red Squirrel Press catalogue page, scroll down to find Edwin’s book.

Girl’s Got Rhythm is available from Black Pear Press

  1. Done! Both purchased. I already have Chatterton 😊

  2. While I am most fortunate indeed, having already acquired both Chatterton and Girl’s Got Rhythm (Both excellent gifts to give or for ones own collection), I shall have to add Aventurine! 🙂
