Tight Bouquet

Yesterday’s
tight bouquet
opens and fades.

The winter roses,
once perfect red
almost orbs,
crinkle with small black daubs.

Tomorrow,
lines craze from creases,
daubs join in the blot
of restless rot.

Even yesterday,
the bouquet
was not as tight
as we thought.

  1. If perception isn’t everything… perhaps it is time to change our view? The way we see or don’t see the miracles around us shapes our lives more than we think. Love it Polly!

    • Thanks Carrie – ‘Tight Bouquet’ has made an appearance before under another guise, but ‘Under the Cloak of Winter’ is brand new and written to the artwork for Kieran. 🙂
