Because it’s spring time…a Triversen poem
Lamb
At the start of spring sunshine
in March, a clamour occurs,
an ignominious din.
She sees the lambs born
on a cool sunny morn, stumble;
bumble, late in the daylight.
The sun rises at four,
red, ruby, gold glows up high
and christens the new-born babes.
It comes round, it goes around,
it returns on this morning
of joy, of hope, of new lives.

Lovely. Makes me look forward it is so cold and damp up here.

It was freezing here yesterday, but today has dawned fine and bright, just made me think of the lambs 🙂

Feels like this winter is here to stay, almost missing the overly hot summers :O

On cold days, I become a bit of a misery…I’ve got a new puppy and she’s keeping me more cheerful, but here, today, the sun’s been shining and it put me in mind of the wonderful weather to come. Good to look forward 😀

The flowers started in earnest here in January this year. However, I would be thrilled to have it warmer… 😉

The seasons are confused, for sure…today is bright, sunny and warm in Worcester, yet yesterday I was frozen all day (!) Hey-ho… 😉

It looks lovely here as well. Alas the winds icy fingers have us in their embrace… C’est la vie. 😉 In my dreams it is summer. 🙂

Polly, after another of my accustomed “winter grey” breaks, this is the perfect re-introduction to your writing. Thanks for a breath of Spring! Here in Wisconsin, we are enjoying a faux Spring… which is not necessarily a healthy indicator of environmental concerns. Looks like a long, hot, dry summer ahead.
But you know? I read your poem and it all seems a bit more bearable. And that’s what good writing is all about! Thanks, Amy

Hiya Amy – great to see you posting again – those grey winters are giving way to spring sunshine and on the day I posted ‘Lamb’ it was so beautiful I felt it fitting to celebrate 🙂 x
