Fences seem to take more time to paint than one might expect, so I wrote that hiaku on the day I’d run out of paint (or is it called stain?) and was pretty fed-up with the whole process…you’d never have guessed that, ‘eh? 🤣
Fed-up, frustration and anger is often the source of my writing that I often like best. It is certainly the most prolific… I hope you will forgive me the Tom Sawyer reference? 🤣
I was pretty sure you would get the reference… BTW, I recently discovered an old British classic and am going to beging my journey of Tales of Shakespeare with Charles and Mary Lamb as my guides. I’ve tried finding another book by them but alas what seems to be out there online is so expensive… The copy of have of Tales from Shakespeare is very well worn and tiny print but will do for me. 😉 😉
Ah, I don’t have kindle and my eyes are strained enough as it is lately so I’m trying to stick to printed matter. Also, I must admit, I am a bit possessive when it comes to books… 😉

Polly, what fun. No white-wash aunt Polly? Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Perhaps I was channeling Twain?
