Awards

With many thanks to those who have nominated my blog for awards – I am honoured. While I no longer accept awards, time doesn’t permit, I’m happy to leave these pages for those of you who find them of interest – most of the links remain ‘live’ but inevitably there will be those no longer available.

My sincere thanks to Alexandra Carr-Malcolm of Worldly Winds for both the Leibster Award and The Versatile Blogger Award early in May; ‘The Beautiful Blogger Award’ later in May and, in the first week of June, the Commentator Award, thank you Alex.

Thank you so much to Cherry Clayton aka The Scribbling Flibbertigibbet who nominated me for the Liebster Award.

Wendy Strohm awarded me The Versatile Blogger Award on the same day as Alexandra and also the the Very Inspiring Blogger Award!  Many, many thanks to you, Wendy. I’m honoured to have received the Inspiring Blogger Award again from A2LSM a relatively new blogger to me, many thanks A2LSM.

jymiely of Little Furrow sent three awards!  The Reader Appreciation Award, the Genuine Blogger Award and the Sunshine Award, I’m most grateful and very honoured jymiely, thank you.

The lovely Ann at Calliope’s Tablet has sent me the Lovely Blogger’s Award, too kind 😉

Also, a big thank you to Nicky Wells of ‘Romance That Rocks Your World!’ a must for everyone who loves a bit of romance in their life.

I have just discovered five awards [that slipped past me unnoiced previously] awaiting me on Debs blog  I Have A Voice thank you Debs.

The very first award I received was the Kreativ Blogger Award from Catherine Crosswell – I’ll never forget the thrill as a new blogger – thanks again Catherine.

No words can express my gratitude for these wonderful acknowledgements.  Thank you for lifting my spirits with your views and thoughts.

So, now I need to do the right thing and pass these great awards on to nominees of my own.  Each award has a set of rules and I hope you won’t mind that I’ve merged them here [following in jymiely’s footsteps, such a good idea]. First, I must link back to those who nominated me, which you can see has been done, above.

Now I must nominate a number of blogs, it usually says ‘with fewer than 200 follows’ but I can’t always tell who has how many followers, so here are some blogs I visit regularly because I like them:

Catherine Crosswell

Maggie Mae

The Write Transition

GJ Scobie

The Silver Poet

Sharp Little Pencil

Bottled Up Sentiments

Susan Daniels

Joe Govan

Wendy Strohm

Finding Time To Write

Worldly Winds

Cindy Knoke

This list is not definitive, there are lots of others whom I also love, and no doubt you’ll know many others.  Should you decide to nominate a blog for an award, first, find the award you want to nominate them for, then leave a comment on their site to let them know they’ve been nominated. The next instruction is that the images for the awards must be shown, you’ll see them at the top of this page. So, that’s the first set of ‘rules’ adhered to!

Next, you may ask for questions to be answered, maybe about your ‘favourites’. You choose whether to answer the questions, but if you want to play the game properly, here is the list 🙂

Favourite colour:

Favourite number:

Favourite non-alcoholic drink:

Facebook or Twitter:

My Passion:

Favourite Pattern:

Favourite Day of the Week:

Favourite Flower:

And some of the Awards require one to ‘write seven things about myself’, so, if you wish to, just go for it 🙂

That’s all for now folks …

  1. Thank you so much for the recognition, Polly! Very kind of you to think of me and include me in your wonderful list. It’s always fun for me to see how far off base I can make an award acceptance post (funny, I follow the rules in most every other avenue of life…), so I look forward to coming up with something. 🙂

And I’m so honored you thought of me.
Here’s to the creativity used in accepting these awards. 😉 I like the trend of going rogue with the rules. (I’m thinking there should be an award for creative award accepting. LOL 😀 )
    Thank you again !!!! 🙂

        • Always nice to have a bit of encouragement and great when people give an award, so thank you again.

I am aware that somewhat negative comments fly around from time to time about giving / receiving blogging awards, but no-one has to do anything with the awards if they don’t wish to, after all, they’ll carry on being awarded by those who do like to join in.

Sometimes it’s a great way of saying thank you to someone who has made you smile or made you think about something that you otherwise might have missed. And it’s a great way of finding new blogs.
