Worcestershire Writers

We have excellent opportunities to share our work and talk to other writers in Worcestershire, here’s some info on where and when.

The spoken word events run by 42Worcester, the LitFest’s Worcester SpeakEasy, and Dear Listener give opportunities to perform, whereas Worcester Writers’ Circle and Malvern Writers’ Circle share their writing–all met via Zoom during lockdown and some continue to do so or are back to their live venues. Another creative group on Zoom is the Malvern Spoken Word group. All are well-established and friendly organisations for writers.

Slightly further afield, but worth a mention, Arvon residentials inspire and give space to breathe and write with few distractions.

Hope you find this info useful–come and say hello at 42Worcester sometime–a friendly event still on Zoom 🙂

  1. There are also poetry evenings at the Lamb and Flag, The Tything, Worcester – I think usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. These are run by Templar Press and are definitely worth a visit. 🙂

  2. I am sure my writers’ group would like to come, but it is maybe just a bit far away – so I shall just enjoy your offerings on this blog–and take some notes on what you do

    • We immediately issue an invite to your writers’ group, you never know, you might get up a fly / drive trip from Kingsville – maybe one day 🙂 Who knows?

Thanks for your comments, LouAnn, hope to see you visit again and I’ll do my best to keep you up to date with Worcestershire happenings on the writing front – for sure other Worcester writers will join in 🙂

  4. A Thank You Note

A big thank you to Tony Judge for reading my short story Antics at Worcester Writers’ Circle 17 July 2012. He got the voices of the gargoyles just right! Even though I wrote it, Tony made me laugh!

  6. My Mum and step-Dad live near Worcester – I visited with them not too long ago. I was born in Birmingham, so not too far away!
