Apples in their different stages of ripening are a wonderful nmeumonic device. At Atelier Cezanne, there is always a basket of apples in the various stages and that room is alive with the master’s presence. It is one of my favorite haunts here and perhaps time to go back? But perhaps I will wait until the autumn when many of the tourists have departed. I love being in there when there are not many visitors so I can hear him whispering some of his best secrets…
